Where frost is rare

In Florida, plant sage from fall through spring and grow it through the cooler months. It is often short-lived in summer heat and humidity, so sharp drainage is essential. Many gardeners start from transplants.

Based on UF/IFAS Gardening Solutions (statewide) says to start sage from seed or cuttings any time from fall through spring. The UF/IFAS Osceola County herb calendar (Central FL) lists Jan-Apr and Sep-Dec and calls sage a short-lived perennial. UF/IFAS Gardening Solutions also lists sage among fall herbs. No zone 11 or Arizona, Texas or California month data was found. Sage is not in the VH021 vegetable table. Warm-winter areas are matched to zones approximately, so use the months for your region.
